Surely it can’t be November 1st already? And yet somehow, it is… how crazy. I have started my novel with only a slight notion of what it is about. But – I’ve started, and that’s the main thing. 400 and something words typed while the small dude was having his morning porridge
I feel [...]

NaNo-ing busily

I’m plugging away at my NaNoWriMo novel, it started off really easy but I’m slowing quite a lot now. I’m wondering if I was so keen to start this year that it made me write like a crazy person and get 6,000 in the first two days. Ah well! I’m at 13,000 words now, which [...]
November wallpapers for fellow novelists…

I found a great link to some beautiful NaNoWriMo wallpapers today. I used the misty river one last year and was really happy to see it again! Thanks to ShatteredByRain for updating them for 2007.
I still haven’t fully formulated a plot for November, but I’m getting there. It’s starting to form in my mind but [...]
It’s that NaNoWriMo time again…

Well, almost! Starting on the 1st of November really, but I’m already on the forums again. I need to think what to write about this year! I have a few ideas for 2nd characters but no plot or theme as yet. Argh. I’m bound to come up with a plot and structure in a month, [...]

I can’t actually feel my own bottom, I’ve been sitting on my bed for so long, But I have won NaNoWriMo!
It’s a really nice feeling, particularly bearing in mind the last month or so and how it’s been. Talking of which, I owe this blog a VERY long entry, because I’m getting insanely behind, [...]
Just a general update

I broke the 20,000 mark today on my novel, which feels great! I wrote over 4,000 words today alone, but wasn’t expecting it to be easy. I think that’s because I allowed my characters to take over completely, resulting in a (second) massive fire and then a rather sweet scene where my MC gets to [...]
Mess (or lack of it)

‘Your room looks tidy’ my mum said just now, when she came in. ‘have you tidied up?’
I looked around. ‘Not really – I just haven’t had any time to make mess lately’ I replied.
Hahaha. And oh so true. My word count for NaNoWriMo is looking very respectable though. Which is nice…
Character & Plot Realism

A classic example of why I love the NaNoWriMo forums – the Character and Plot Realism Q&A one is bursting with fantastic titles like:
If You Have Your Tongue Cut Out, Can You Still Swallow?
I need a fatal disease!
What kind of stunt would kill you AND the horse you were riding?
Is it possible for people not [...]

I’ve found an incentive to complete NaNoWriMo 2006! The idea was mailed to me this morning actually, it’s affordable and yet something I want very much – a Moleskine City notebook.
Lurvely. They do a London Moleskine which is the one I crave, click the image above to have a peek.
I hardly ever win things…

…but I won this! YAY! My first NaNoWriMo win, ever. And also my first full novel too I suppose
50,023 / 50,000(100.0%)
It feels good. Now to sleep. Pass out, whatever. I can’t be bothered to describe things properly. Flaugh.
